Please refer to the BHW webpage and navigate to the program towhich you want to apply. Each BHW Program has a differentapplication. Follow the appropriate link to begin the applicationprocess for your desired program.

I want to apply to multiple BHW programs. CanI use the same account to apply to all of them?

Yes, you will need to complete one application first beforebeginning the next program’s application. After completing thefirst program’s application, simply navigate to the login screenof the additional program you wish to apply for and log in withthe same information used to access the first program’sapplication.

I applied to one of the BHW programs in aprevious application cycle. Do I need to create a new PortalAccount to apply this year?

You do not need to create a new account. You may use thePortal Account you used previously and apply to any program inthe current application cycle.

I started an application already, but I forgotmy password. Should I start another application for the sameprogram with another account?

You do not need to start another application. Please contact theCustomer Care Center at 1-800-221-9393 or Contact Us to unlock your account.

I am currently serving in a BHW program and donot have a Participant Portal Account. How should I create aPortal Account?

Please contact the Customer Care Center at 1-800-221-9393 or Contact Us to have an account created.

I created a Portal Account, but I have notreceived the activation email, or I have lost it. What should Ido?

On the Portal login page, please click the “Forgot yourpassword?” link and follow the instructions. You may also callthe Customer Care Center at 1-800-221-9393 or Contact Us if you do not remember yoursecurity answer.

My password was reset; however, I did notreceive my password reset email.

The password reset email may take up to 15 minutes to be sent. Ifthis time has passed, check your spam folder. If not found,please check your email settings and ensure that ‘no reply’ emailaddresses are not blocked. You may also call the Customer CareCenter at 1-800-221-9393 or Contact Us.

My email will not accept messages from thenoreply@hrsa.gov email address.

The Customer Care Center agents will be able to assist you inchanging your login email address. You may contact them at1-800-221-9393 or Contact Us. Please have an alternate emailaddress handy to assist in this process.

I want to change my login email. Should Icreate a new account under the new email address?

That is not necessary. Most applicants have the ability to changetheir password by navigating to the Account Settings page in thetop right corner. If this option is not available, please contactthe Customer Care Center at 1-800-221-9393 or Contact Us and request an email change.Current participants are able to change their email via theAccount Settings tab once logged into the account.

I created the wrong type of Portal Account andwhen I try to register for another type, it says my email isalready in use.

You do not need to create a new account. Instead, navigateto the login screen of the Program Portal Account that you wishto create. Simply log-in using your account credentials. You havenow activated the Portal Account for the desired program.

I am an Applicant/Participant as well as aSite Administrator. Do I need a second account to use the SiteAdministrator Portal?

You do not need a second account. After creating anApplicant/Participant Portal Account, simply navigate to the SiteAdministrator Portal and log in using the same log in credentials(email address and password) associated with yourApplicant/Participant account.

I would like to apply for a Continuation.Should I create an Applicant Portal Account?

You may use your Participant Portal Account to apply for yourContinuation. If you do not already have a Participant PortalAccount, please refer above for instructions on how to createone. Once logged-in, you should be able to see the link to applyfor a Continuation if you are eligible. Please be aware a linkwill not appear unless you are eligible for the currentContinuation application cycle. If you do not see this link,please contact the Customer Care Center at 1-800-221-9393 or Contact Us for information regarding thecycle dates and eligibility.

I currently work at an NHSC, NC, or STAR LRPsite as an Applicant/Participant. My Site Administrator has notcreated a Site Administrator Portal Account for the site. Can Ido this for him/her?

Site Administrators must create the Portal Account for yoursite. Site Administrators are an important part of your serviceat the NHSC, NC, or STAR LRP site. They require their own PortalAccounts in order to support your service, as well as the site’songoing credentialing process. Please be advised that creatingand sharing an account may impact your BHW record and applicationsubmission.

Why am I getting the Change Password page?

Passwords must be reset every 60 days.

I am getting a notice on my portal homepagethat my password will expire soon. How do I reset it?

You can reset your password through the Account Settingspage located at the top of your portal, or you can use the forgotpassword functionality on the login page of the portal.

I am trying to change my password to completemy application, but the system will not allow me to change itmore than once within 24 hours. How can I change it so I can moveforward with my application?

I am trying to change my password but I keepgetting an error that I cannot change my password to a passwordI’ve used recently. Why am I getting this message?

You may not use one of your 24 most recently usedpasswords. Please use a new password.

I forgot the email address I used to create my online account

Your email address is your username and must be used to access your account. It can be viewed on the Account Setting page in the online application.

If you have forgotten this email address and cannot log in to youraccount, please contact the Customer Care Center at 1-800-221-9393(TTY for hearing impaired: 1-877-897-9910), Monday through Friday(except Federal holidays), 8:00 am to 8:00 pm ET or Contact Us.

I forgot my password

Please click the link "I forgot my password" on the login screen and enter your username. Your username is the email address you used for registering your online application account. You will be required to answer the security question you selected when creating your account. A link to reset your password will be emailed to the email address used to create your account if the security answer supplied is correct. If you have forgotten the answer to your security question, please contact the BHW Customer Care Center at 1-800-221-9393 (TTY for hearing impaired: 1-877-897-9910), Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), 8:00 am to 8:00 pm ET or Contact Us.

What do I do if my account has been locked?

Your account will be locked after 3 failed attempts to log in. If this happens please follow the instructions from the "I forgot my password" FAQ above.

My session has timed out. Is there any way I can retrieve the information I had entered in my application?

No. Any information not saved prior to session time out cannot be recovered. For this reason, it is a good idea to save your information frequently.
