We could eat this delicious frosting with a spoon! These blondies are dense and very moist. Our kids loved them and it’s a great way to use up those ripe bananas!
Ingredients needed to make these Banana Nut Blondies
- 1/3 cup butter (melted)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 bananas (ripe and mashed)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup butter (softened)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
How to make these yummy Banana Blondies with Maple Frosting:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease and flour a 9 x 9 inch baking dish. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl combine the melted butter, brown sugar, egg, vanilla, bananas, and pecans.
Then add in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir until combined. The batter will be thick. Spread into the prepared pan.
Bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool completely.
For the frosting, mix together the softened butter, powdered sugar, syrup, and vanilla. Mix until smooth and creamy. Spread over the cooled blondies. Sprinkle with chopped pecans.

These cakes are so good. I made cupcakes out of this recipe. It made about 20 and i cooked them for about 25 minutes. Then made cinnamon cream cheese frosting. Delicious!
